Myth vs Fact Series
Social Media
2023 - 2025
The Myth vs Fact series featured on the 405(d) Program website and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) is a set of educational resources designed to address common misconceptions about cybersecurity in the healthcare and public health sector created for the HHS 405(d) Program. Each piece in the series presents widely held myths about cybersecurity risks, practices, or policies and directly contrasts them with accurate, evidence-based facts. The goal is to simplify complex cybersecurity concepts, correct misunderstandings, and promote informed decision-making among healthcare professionals, leadership teams, and supporting staff.

From a project management perspective, the development of the Myth vs Fact series required coordination across multiple stakeholders, including cybersecurity subject matter experts, program leadership, and communications teams. This involved gathering input, validating technical accuracy, aligning messaging with broader program goals, and managing iterative review cycles. Timelines, content approvals, and version control were critical to ensuring consistency and reliability across each installment in the series, while also integrating the content into the larger ecosystem of resources on the platform.

From a graphic design standpoint, the series was developed with a strong emphasis on clarity, readability, and visual hierarchy. Each Myth vs Fact piece uses structured layouts, typographic contrast, and visual cues to clearly differentiate between incorrect assumptions and correct information. Design elements such as color coding, iconography, and consistent template systems help reinforce comprehension and maintain brand consistency across the series. The visual approach is intentionally simple and accessible, allowing users to quickly scan, compare, and retain key messages. Accessibility considerations (including Section 508 compliance), audience diversity, and usability were also central to ensuring the content is effective across a wide range of users and devices.

Overall, the Myth vs Fact series represents a blend of strategic content planning, disciplined project management, and thoughtful graphic design—working together to transform complex cybersecurity guidance into clear, engaging, and actionable educational materials.
