That Seems Risky Series
Social Media Content
2024 - 2025

The That Seems Risky series is an educational content series developed by the 405(d) Program to address common misconceptions about cybersecurity in the healthcare and public health sector and used across their social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). The series is designed to highlight risky assumptions, behaviors, or beliefs that organizations may have about cybersecurity, and then correct them with clear, practical guidance. Each piece typically presents a scenario or statement that “seems risky,” followed by an explanation of why it is inaccurate or potentially dangerous, along with recommended best practices to mitigate the risk.

The goal of the series is to make cybersecurity concepts more relatable and actionable by framing them in real-world contexts that resonate with healthcare professionals and organizational leadership. By focusing on behavior and decision-making, the series supports broader program objectives such as improving awareness, encouraging consistent cybersecurity practices, and reinforcing a culture of risk-based thinking across the sector.

From a project management perspective, creating the That Seems Risky series required structured coordination across multiple stakeholders, including subject matter experts, program leadership, and communications teams. The development process involved gathering accurate technical input, aligning messaging with the broader 405(d) program goals, and managing iterative review and approval cycles to ensure both clarity and correctness. As the project manager, I was responsible for organizing timelines, tracking deliverables, maintaining version control, and ensuring each installment was consistent with prior and future content in the series. Additionally, the content had to be integrated into the larger ecosystem of 405(d) resources, requiring ongoing coordination with website and content owners to ensure proper publication and accessibility.

From a graphic design standpoint, the series required the creation of a consistent and recognizable visual format that could effectively communicate the contrast between “risky” assumptions and “correct” guidance. As the graphic designer, I developed templates that used clear typography, structured layouts, and visual hierarchy to guide the reader’s attention. Elements such as color differentiation, callout sections, icons, and spacing were used to emphasize key points and improve readability. The design approach prioritized simplicity and accessibility (including Section 508 compliance), ensuring the content could be quickly understood by a wide audience. Visual consistency across all entries in the series also helped reinforce brand identity and made the materials easily identifiable as part of the same educational initiative.

Overall, the That Seems Risky series represents a combination of strategic content development, disciplined project management, and intentional graphic design—working together to transform complex cybersecurity risks into clear, engaging, and actionable guidance for healthcare organizations.
